My Perfect Mothers Day With The White Company
When The White Company asked me to share a visual diary of what would make my Ultimate Mothers Day, I have to admit, I did a little happy dance. Anyone who knows me, knows I ADORE The White Company. If you ever need to get me a gift, just go there. You won’t go wrong.
I know I’m not alone, don’t we ALL swoon over the fresh, calming, unmistakable elegance that exudes everything White Company? From their crisp white sheets, the cosiest pj’s and even their fragrances. It’s like a carefully curated, pre-edited collection that fits wonderfully into the home. You just can’t beat it!
So you’ll imagine my excitement at choosing my edit for this post. So many wonderful things that any mother would love to receive on Mothers Day. I know we’ve got our mums all sorted for the perfect gifts from the selection HERE.
I did imagine that we would have a tiny little newborn in these pictures, but our tiny man just keeps us waiting….
Documenting our “perfect” Sunday was actually a pretty fabulous excuse to relax and have a day with my lovely boys, not far from the house. Just what the Dr ordered!
For me, every good Mothers Day starts with a lie in and Breakfast in Bed, that’s a must!
I remember being a little girl and making my mum tea and toast in bed on Mother’s Day. It was almost always cold by the time I got it to her, and the kitchen looked like I’d baked the bread from scratch…but she always seemed to love it regardless. Thankfully, Colin (who happens to be an excellent chef) takes control of the breakfast in bed in our house and as always, he spoiled me rotten with a much needed lie-in followed by pancakes on the most adorable heart shaped plates!
As if freshly made pancakes with berries and cream isn’t enough to put a smile on my face, I also awoke to not one, but TWO beautiful bouquets of flowers! Hand delivered by my favourite little person in the whole world…just look at that smile!! ?
So after sharing my pancakes with my little guy, it was time to soak my big growing belly in a candlelit bath. There’s something so indulgent about Day-time baths isn’t there?
I adore all the seasonal fragrances by The White Company. They’ve done the most amazing job of truly capturing the essence of each month. If you haven’t tried this yet, you simply must try their Spring Candle. Honeysuckle, Rose and Cut Grass. It’s absolute heaven. We burned it all day and despite a cloudy afternoon…Spring certainly filled our house. You can find it HERE.
Sunday’s call for roast dinners, and that’s a beautiful Mother’s Day tradition for me. It’s lovely to go out for lunch, but home cooked is still my very favourite. Fancying something a little lighter, we opted for a nice fresh salad with our roast chicken and potatoes this Sunday.
Is there any thing that evokes childhood memories of a Sunday than the smell of a delicious roast Chicken filling the house? It makes me a VERY happy pregnant lady I tell ya!! Colin also makes the best salads, and this one was extra special as Ollie sprinkled the cheese with his tiny fingers.
After lunch, the three of us enjoyed a long, slow walk through the fields. Anything to get this baby moving! It’s so beautiful out there right now isn’t it? So many wonderful signs of spring.
Our evening consisted of fresh PJ’s, popcorn and films by the fire. I love that the evenings are still cool enough to enjoy the fire before bedtime. Find our gorgeous log basket (which is now 30% off) HERE.
Another candle lit, but this time, one to unwind with. It’s my all-time favourite White Company scent White Lavender. It’s deeply relaxing but still crisp and clean. The perfect scent to see the sun go down all year round, but especially in the spring/summer.
Find these stunning Vases that made the perfect homes for my Mothers Day Blooms HERE. The beautiful White Lavender Candle is HERE. It comes in a whole body line too which would make a gorgeous gift for a mum that loves to pamper herself…simply wonderful!!
So that’s it! My Ultimate Mothers Day, relaxed, at home, and surrounded by my precious boys. I’m hoping that on actual Mother’s Day we’ll also be able to celebrate with my Mum and Grandma, and of course Archie and the new baby will be here too! Such a surreal and exciting thought that’s filling me with joy and anticipation.
Wishing all you AMAZING mums the best day possible, filled with love and gratitude for all the amazing things you do…every day!
I’m proud to say that this post is in collaboration with The White Company. Hands down my favourite store on the High Street.
